PRESS RELEASE: Comb Communications rebranding mirrors trends in the IoT market
Comb Communications has undertaken an extensive brand revitalisation campaign in line with trends in the technology industry towards enhanced integration with the Internet of Things (IoT). A recognised pioneer in the security industry within the access control space, Comb was one of the first companies internationally to use GSM technology linked into the Internet. The company has now expanded into a more comprehensive technology arena, providing software development as well as internet-based management solutions, along with the associated hardware integration, in order to provide a holistic access and control solution.
According to the founder and CEO Graham Wild, the company has a track record that spans over ten years and more than a million authenticated entries daily. “We felt it was appropriate to bring the look and feel of our brand in line with the increased focus on highly functional and innovative access and control technology. We believe that we have achieved our primary goal of developing a dynamic and progressive brand image for our product offerings. We have evolved from being perceived as merely an intercoms company. We are now an IoT company and our branding and communications clearly reflects this.”
Wild explains that the primary aim during the rebranding process was to adopt an evolutionary approach by modernising both the brand’s imagery and functionality in line with the new direction taken by the company. “We feel that it presents a much more contemporary impression of the company, not just in the actual design of the logo and branded products, but in the way that communications with existing and potential customers are handled as well as how our offerings benefit the market.”
Comb Communications is synonymous with the facility management of estates, clusters and business parks in South Africa and abroad. The company provides the tools to equip authorised users with real time access into events at their location’s access points, through a sophisticated web management engine.
With the company’s online Portal, customers are provided with a secure login and a number of visitor management services. Included in the parameters of the technology offering are online registration and notifications, auditing on any changes made, bulk messaging, comprehensive reports, and data management of service providers.
Furthermore, once Comb hardware is combined with the Portal, the system allows triggering device allocation, health stats on devices, online hardware configuration and time-barred access management. Other features include access allocation management, creation of organisations online, allocation of hardware to organisations online, visitor access management and informative dashboards.
Wild has built an innovative company that offers solutions and products from an access and control perspective and is eager to enter into collaborative partnerships with other symbiotic suppliers and consultants. “We have a long-standing cooperative relationship with several companies, one of them being Centurion Systems, who were instrumental in our distribution and growth. This is not only based on sales, but rather technology sharing. This forms part of our strategic plan to change the perception that we are simply only an access control company. We believe that we are rapidly moving towards being identified as an access and control provider, with offerings that are geared around making life simpler for our clients – a critical turning point as we move into international territories.
“The fast-paced nature of this environment also dictates that technology companies remain at the forefront of innovation and provide turn-key solutions to their customers. None of this will be more evident than what we unveil at our Innovation Showcase in September 2017. For more information visit www.comb-communications.com,” says Wild.
